Little Snail Til and the Night Garden

Little Til the snail loved his evening walks. During the day he often grew tired from the heat and the bustle of the garden, but when night began to fall, everything turned quiet, cool, and wonderfully magical. His friend, Lia the dragonfly, liked the peaceful evenings too—her wings fluttered so softly in the night air that they made almost no sound at all.

One evening, as the sun was slipping behind the trees, Lia was flying above Til when she suddenly stopped midair.

“Do you hear that?” she whispered.
“Hear what?” Til stretched his neck as high as he could.
“It sounds like… music.”

Til listened closely. In the still air came the faintest ding-dilin, as if someone were playing tiny crystal bells.

“That’s not from our garden,” said Lia. “Let’s go deeper in and see where it’s coming from!”

And Til, brimming with curiosity, crawled after her.
